The Race HQ/Registration Will be situated at the race village start/finish area. The boat embarkation for spectators is a 10-15 minute walk from the race HQ. 1 MILE FUN RUN RUNNERS PICK UP NUMBERS FROM THE BAGGAGE TENT
PREPAID SPECTATOR BOAT PASSENGERS, HEAD DIRECTLY TO THE BOATS IN WINDSOR
The start/finish field will include tea/coffee and refreshment vans
Please note, there is no free parking close to the race venue. Parking will be your responsibility. A detailed guide to Parking in Windsor and Eton can be found here (or via the Parkopedia website). We do not recommend trying to park on the Eton side of the river as the bridge between Eton and Windsor is pedestrian access only, and if the carparks are full, you will have a long Journey getting around to the Windsor Side. We recommend using the Romney Lock or Home Park Carparks due to the locality and cost (These have the only free parking on the day). The castle and river street car parks are the closest to the spectator Boat access/launch, but are not long stay and will have a higher cost. We recommend you plan your journey/parking well in advance and take into account the location of the Race HQ, Race Start and Boat Access for spectators, as these are either side of the river (Runners will only need to be the Eton side of the river, whereas boat spectators will need to be on the Windsor side of the river)
The first train in from London Waterloo arrives at Windsor and Eton Riverside station at 0744. The station is 5 minutes walk from the race HQ and 10 mins walk from the Boats. This is cutting it close, for anyone wishing to pick up boat tickets from race HQ and walk back to the boat area. The train from London Paddington leaves paddington at 0800 and after a change at slough arrives at Windsor and Eton central at 0833 which is a 5 minute walk to the boat launching area and a 10 minute walk to the race HQ. Please consult the train timetable nearer the time as we cant be liable for changes to schedules or anything annoying like rail workers going on strike.
We politely and firmly request headphones are not worn (as per the terms and conditions you agreed to). You will need to hear our marshals and our marshals will need to know you have heard them. In the same way that DQs may be given for ignoring or being abusive to Marshals, this goes the same for wearing headphones. The health and safety of runners, and the general public takes priority. The T&C of your entry also stipulate that we firmly request headphones arent to be worn.
Prize giving will be done as soon after the event as possible. We'll have a dedicated winners team working at the finish line to identify age group and overall winners and to make them aware of their win. Prize giving will take place at the start/finish area at approx 11am or sooner. Prizes will be awarded for the first 3 male and female runners and the first male and female runners of the v40, v50 and v60+ categories. The Team prize will be awarded for the first team to get 2 men and 2 women over the finish line (To qualify as a team, the team or club indicated on your entry must match and you must be wearing matching club or team kit)
There will be temporary toilets at the race village (start/finish) area but as often happens at races, you may find there is a queue for these. Windsor also has several Public Toilets near to the various carparks you may use on the day. The victoria street multi-storey, river street and home park car parks all have public toilets in or near them. We recommend using these on your way to the Race HQ as this will save you time. As we need to start promptly, the start of the race will not be delayed because of toilet queues.
Bag Drop will be at the Start/finish area, not at registration. Valueables are left at owners risk
